Enhans, an enterprise AI agent platform company, announced that it has launched an ontology-based AI data analytics validation project with IBK Industrial Bank of Korea.

The project focuses on transforming internal business knowledge and tacit expertise into knowledge assets that AI agents can use. It is designed to reduce the burden on employees who currently need to request data from IT teams or work directly with existing database queries, and to validate whether users can retrieve and analyze the data they need simply by asking questions in natural language.

For the project, Enhans will deploy its proprietary AI agent platform, AgentOS, within IBK’s internal network. The system will establish a semantic layer over the bank’s information-system data used for reporting and analytics, connecting business meaning and relationships across underlying datasets.

Technologies such as Text-to-SQL, which converts natural-language questions into SQL queries, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), which retrieves relevant information to support generated responses, depend heavily on an accurate understanding of enterprise-specific context.

Enhans will apply ontology technology to structure business concepts, relationships, and tacit knowledge into a reusable knowledge framework. By connecting this framework with the bank’s data schemas, the system is designed to interpret queries using IBK’s own business terminology, operational context, and decision criteria.

The validation will go beyond simple data retrieval to include more complex analytical tasks such as root-cause analysis and insight generation. It will also assess whether the system can provide the reference data and reasoning path behind each response, enabling users to understand how an answer was derived.

The project will run through November, with performance evaluated quantitatively against a predefined golden dataset.

Enhans has also gained recognition for its technology in global markets and is a partner in the Microsoft Agentic AI Startup Alliance. The company received the Grand Prize at the Korea AI Awards last year, presented by the Ministry of Science and ICT.

“We expect this project to serve as a starting point for realizing AI Ready Data by transforming internal business knowledge and tacit expertise into reusable assets that AI agents can effectively leverage,” said a representative from IBK Industrial Bank of Korea.

“In financial services, it is critical to build a semantic layer that allows AI to understand and use domain-specific knowledge such as business terminology and decision criteria,” said Seunghyun Lee, CEO of Enhans. “Through this project, we aim to demonstrate that even within a bank’s internal network, AI can deliver analytical results together with clear supporting evidence, while enabling employees to make broader and more effective use of enterprise data.”
