AgentOS

International Workers' Day began with one demand. Give people their time back. It traces back to the fight for the eight-hour workday in 1886. Today, May 1, 2026, CommerceOS becomes AgentOS.

Over the past five months, the product has reached well beyond commerce, and the original name no longer fit. AgentOS is an operating system built to give companies their time back. Agents handle the repetitive execution work. People focus on judgment and creativity.

This post walks through why the name changed and what AgentOS means to us.

Where CommerceOS Started

Enhans launched CommerceOS on November 11, 2025. It was an operating system in which agents directly handled the recurring decisions that run a commerce business. Pricing, purchase orders, inventory, and channel operations.

Within five months, more than 20 enterprise customers had come on board, and major commerce companies were running real operational work through it.

The Product Outgrew Its Name

The same operating system worked just as well outside commerce. The industries changed. The system underneath stayed the same.

Inquiries kept coming in from manufacturing, finance, and beyond. That's when the name "CommerceOS" started to hold us back. Prospective customers would read the name and assume the product wasn't for them. The new name closes that gap.

What AgentOS Means to Us

AgentOS is already a familiar term in the industry, and we chose it because it describes the product most accurately.

For us, AgentOS is an operating system that runs a company by combining the agents that company needs. Market monitoring. Pricing operations. QA processes. Document-centered work. Brand analysis. Response workflows. The range of operational scenarios varies by industry and by company. Each agent is built around the company's data, context, and goals, and works as an AI system optimized for a specific task, well beyond what general-purpose assistants can do. The industries and agent lineups change. The operating system they run on stays the same.

One distinction matters here. When most people say "AgentOS," they mean a platform for building agents. Ours is the environment where agents actually run a company. It doesn't stop at answers. It carries them through to execution.

The Name Changes. The Work Carries Over.

Every customer reference and every validated result earned under CommerceOS carries over to AgentOS. For commerce customers, nothing changes in the product or in support. Going forward, companies outside commerce can run on the same operating system and assemble the agents they need.

140 years ago, workers fought to win their time back. Today, agents give that time back to people. On May 1, 2026, AgentOS begins.
